Finch was born in La Mirada Calif. and started playing softball when she was 5 years old. Doug was her father. He was the very first coach of Jennie's pitching. Jennie first started using the Finch Windmill which is a tool for arm strengthening and conditioning at age 10. In high school she pitched 6 perfect games and 13 no-hitters. After graduation, she attended an undergraduate program at the University of Arizona and was awarded a triple-time All American pitcher as also a first baseman. In 2001, when her Wildcats team took home the National Championship, and again in 2002 she won with the Honda Award for the best softball player in the United States. Wounded Warrior amputee softball (WWAST) is a collective made up of amputees, has a goal to increase awareness and collect funds by playing shows, star softball teams and other events which highlight the strength and sacrifices of our servicemen and women and how they can overcome every obstacle. We aim to prove to other amputees, and to the public at large that, through rehab and intense training, the athletes can be themselves and enjoy the sport they love.
